COMMISSION A PAINTING

RISK-FREE

Most of the commissions I accept involve bigger paintings – often hard to find with a limited number of galleries having the space to exhibit these larger works for any length of time. My preference is to visit (whenever possible) to view the space where the large work is to go and to discuss just what dimensions will look good – large enough for the work to have a pleasurable impact but not so large that it dominates the space – whether this is an expansive open plan living space or a foyer hallway or perhaps a business boardroom. Colour and style are also discussed. If I can’t visit, then photos of your space are useful.

Once again the big question with commissions, is what if I don’t like it when it is done? Do I have to keep it? The short answer is no. The longer answer is that the risk of being stuck with a commissioned work you don’t like, is removed by me, as follows. At the time the commission is confirmed, a 50% deposit is paid, with the second 50% due when the painting is delivered. If on delivery the commissioned painting is for some reason unacceptable to you and this can’t be remedied, then the 50% deposit is refunded in full and there is no obligation to complete the purchase. This does happen occasionally . . . however in most instances I have subsequently painted a second work which has been happily accepted by the buyer. Miracles taking a little longer! There is no obligation however to proceed to this second painting. This is entirely up to you. The important point is that you can commission a painting from me, entirely without risk!

Contact me anytime if you want to find out more about the risk-free commissioning of a large painting.
